Andrealphus, better known as Andy, is a character in Afterparty. He is an attorney working under Apollyon assigned to defend Roberto Spaghetti, and is met by Lola and Milo during Apollyon's Seal quest.
Personality[]
Andy is well-mannered, has a wide vocabulary, and has a tendency to be polite. He is friendly and open towards strangers, even unwelcome ones such as Wormhorn. He has a thirst for justice, taking it upon himself to exonerate Roberto from his accusations upon realizing that he was innocent.
Appearance[]
Andy is a tall, broad demon with ram-like horns protruding from either side of his head and glowing blue facial features. He wears a light blue shirt underneath a navy blue suit and an orange striped tie.
Plot[]
Andy is first seen speaking with cuffed Roberto when Milo and Lola arrive at Little Rantalia for Apollyon's Seal quest. Milo and Lola can choose to stop and overhear their conversation. If they do so, Roberto calls out to them and, after a short conversation, asks if Lola would fix his hair, to which she can either accept or ignore. Later on, after finding a disguise, Andy is seen taking Roberto into The Sealed Knot, telling him to go straight to the back and into the flour drawer.
Inside, Andy approaches the table where Apollyon, Gerald, Delbert, and a disguised Lola and Milo are sitting. After their conversation (during which Andy is made to believe that Lola and Milo's identity is either Lutzelfrau, Major General Scuttlebutt, Abraxus Purson, or "Miloand"), Andy begins to disclose his suspicions about Apollyon wanting to overtake Satan, to which Lola and Milo can choose to stay and listen in on or leave.
During Milo and Lola's talk with her, Apollyon calls Andy into the room and tells him that he will be taking a disguised Lola and Milo to the public defender's office, which he initially takes as a joke before confusedly agreeing. After he returns, Apollyon initially teleports Andy, Milo, and Lola to the wrong location before bringing them back, apologizing, and sending them to Little Rantalia's courtroom on the second floor.
There, Andy presents Roberto's case, in which a warlock was initially hired as a fortune teller for a carnival, but was fired after customers complained that "their futures were too depressing." The warlock took advantage of Roberto and created an evil copy of him, which he then sent to cause a massacre at the carnival and set a carousel on fire. The warlock later died in a "warlocking accident" five minutes prior to the case and plea-bargained in exchange for a lesser sentence, revealing his role in Roberto's "crimes."
As Milo and Lola either try to hinder his case or keep quiet, Andy finally decides to present a signed confession from the warlock after they'd met earlier, taken on an app that "turns your face into a rabbit" which he downloaded prior to it being taken down due to "being racist for some reason." Lola and Milo can choose to either accuse Andy of forgery, causing him to be condemned by the judge and teleported out of the room; light Andy on fire, causing him to run off screaming; or let Andy show the letter, only the latter of which ends with Roberto getting a verdict of not guilty. If Andy is still present, he praises them as his team in getting Roberto acquitted, and they can choose to compliment him or tell him that Apollyon needed them to have Roberto kept in Hell, causing Andy to reassure them that he'll tell her about their client's innocence.
Relationships[]
- Apollyon - Andy is one of Apollyon's friends whom he meets with at The Sealed Knot for drinks. Though he suspects her of planning on overthrowing Satan, he supports what he believes to be her motives and can say that she "has a good heart."[2] He respects her as his superior, calling her "your Honor." Andy can also mention that he and Apollyon are "on like five separate group text threads."[3]
- Roberto Spaghetti - Andy initially disliked Roberto for "his accent, for his candor", and "for his kindness that [he] perceived as symptoms of an oncoming fever," but later came to realize that Roberto was telling the truth of his innocence and that he had a pure soul in his hands, and took it upon himself to exonerate him from his accusations.
- Gerald - Gerald is one of Andy's friends, and can tease him as he walks into the room depending on Lola's initial response. Andy dislikes Gerald's tendency to bring up work during their downtime, which Gerald counters as a byproduct of Andy having a more engaging job.
- Delbert - Delbert is Andy's paralegal, and mentions that "no one calls him anything." Andy seems to be friends with Delbert and trust him, as he discloses his suspicions that Roberto is innocent and Apollyon is planning to overthrow Satan to him.
