Pete is a character in Afterparty. If Lola and Milo choose to pursue Fela in hopes of a ticket to Satan's party, he is the one of the three humans they can interrogate and accuse of having snuck into Hell at the Feisty's in Bobolyne Park, the others being Greg and Eliza.
Personality[]
Pete was an alcoholic and drug user in life, enjoying partying with his friends and making them laugh. According to himself, a mall Easter Bunny once told Pete that he should stop lashing out at people, indicating that he generally does not take stressful situations well. After accidentally steering their party bus off a cliff, Pete becomes constantly nervous and paranoid, fearing that his friend Charlie will discover that he was the one who killed him and all his closest friends.
Appearance[]
Pete has light brown hair and wears an olive collared shirt with a red-and-blue striped tie under a black suit; red, green, and blue-striped socks; and black shoes.
Background[]
Pete, alongside Barry, was one of Charlie's best men for his upcoming wedding. For Charlie's bachelor party, Pete and Barry supplied a new drug nicknamed "fertilizer" that "makes you forget your nieces and nephews".[1] While driving the party bus, Pete attempted to steer the wheel with his erect penis and caused it to swerve off a cliff, killing himself, Charlie, and the rest of his passengers. After being sent to Hell, Pete learned that no one else could remember anything past boarding the bus and became wracked with guilt over having caused their deaths.
Plot[]
If Milo and Lola choose to pursue Fela for an invitation to Satan's party instead of Lynda Landon, they will be assigned by him to infiltrate a bachelor's party at Feisty's to search for a human who's snuck into Hell. While listening to Charlie's conversation, he can be overheard talking about Pete and Barry bringing drugs on the party bus. If Lola makes the right decisions, Charlie will tell Lola that he noticed Pete hasn't been drinking, despite normally being able to "imbibe by the barrel."
Lola and Milo can choose to talk to Pete. If they hadn't already spoken with Charlie or Greg and Eliza earlier, Pete will act jumpy and anxious towards them. If they had, Pete will immediately tell them to "cut the shit" and accuse them of being nosy and enjoying "watching people squirm". If they made the right decisions, Pete will calm himself down and admit his role in the death of the bachelor party's attendees, then offers to tell Milo and Lola who he believes is suspicious at the party. If they accept, Pete points them towards Greg.
After receiving this information, if they hadn't already spoken with him, Lola is able to confront Greg about him not having been invited to the party during their conversation.
After following and interrogating either Greg or Eliza, Lola and Milo must choose to accuse either Greg, Eliza, or Pete of being the human who snuck into Hell to Fela. If they accuse Pete, he is confusedly escorted out of the bar by two security demons. Fela states that Pete is doomed to be sentenced to the Ninth Circle, where he will be hacked into infinite pieces by multi-limbed, feathered serpents for eternity. Later on, at Satan's party, Fela informs Milo and Lola that it was discovered they had chosen the wrong person, resulting in Fela being fired from his job.
Relationships[]
- Charlie - Pete and Charlie were friends in life, having been close enough for Pete to be invited as one of Charlie's best men at his wedding. Charlie knows Pete well enough to recognize that him being sober at a party is strange for him.
- Milo and Lola - At first, Pete can either be cold and anxious towards Milo and Lola or highly paranoid, based on whether they had spoken to Eliza and Greg or Charlie beforehand. If they manage to get him to calm down or confess, Charlie apologizes for his initial behavior before offering to help them in exchange for their silence regarding his secret.
Quotes[]
- "Look, just-- just leave me alone, okay? I make small talk about as well as I make balloon animals, so beat it."
- — Pete to Lola (determinant)
- Lola: "Oh, you're the goddamn cheater, aren't you?! I can--I can smell 'em from their jockies a mile away!"

- — Lola and Pete (determinant)
- "Cut the shit. I know what you're up to-- Asking questions, stirring up trouble... I saw you talking to Charlie, alright? Grilling him? The point is you're pokin' your nose where it don't need to be poked! That what gets you off? Watching people squirm?!"
- — Pete to Lola (determinant)
- Pete: "I'm sorry. That mall Easter Bunny told me I shouldn't lash out at people... The truth is I'm not even supposed to be here, and, uh, if it wasn't for Charlie, you know, I wouldn't--I wouldn't be."
- Milo: "Out with it! How'd you do it, huh? Self-asphyxiation? Those medical, uh, pad things?"
- Pete: "I tried to drive the party bus with my erect penis."
- — Pete and Milo (determinant)
- Pete: "I was just trying to make them laugh! But my cock isn't as good as a steering tool as I was led to believe... Thank God Charlie doesn't remember I'm the one that crashed the bus."
- Milo: "Due to your maypole--"
- Pete: "Due to my pork sword, yes--"
- "Listen, can you work with me on this? Can we--let's make a deal, alright? If you're looking for somebody, I think I know who it is... But you can't tell anyone about my skin flute accidentally killing my best friend and almost everyone he likes. Sound fair?"
- — Pete to Milo and Lola (determinant)
- Pete: "What! What did I do?! I just-- I just wanted to drive the bus with my plonker!"
- Milo (to Lola): "Just, uh, just pretend you can't hear him."

- — Pete while being arrested by campus security (determinant)
